Forensic and Historical Program about the Mystery of the Romanovs & Anastasia

The Friends of the Lake Geneva Public Library welcome the public to attend their Annual Meeting at 6 p.m. at the Library. The Friends will host the program “The Mystery of the Romanovs” at 6:30 p.m., featuring Enrichment Speaker Dr. Hal Tinberg. Tinberg’s program will answer the question: did Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov survive the Romanov family execution and reappear as Anna Anderson? Tinberg will describe Anastasia’s story and how science was used to solve this decades old mystery through DNA testing. Tinberg will also mention the story of Eugenia Smith, former Lake Geneva resident who claimed to be Anastasia.

10th Annual Spring Boat Show Bash

As we gear up for the ‘Run For The Roses’, you’ll be able to create your own Kentucky Derby Party a week later with these Southern Specialties featured in this class. Gather the girls for this “hands-on” cooking experience where you learn how to make entertaining, easy, and delicious southern inspired dishes with our Run For The Roses Luncheon. In addition to a beautiful lake front inspired kitchen setting, guests will enjoy a “hands-on” cooking class, heavy appetizer buffet, wine tasting, and an afternoon full of fun and laughter.

Students create themed artistry on their individual 16" X 20" canvas originating with the class theme, but unfolding uniquely with each person's painting style. Paint N' Sip will reveal your artistic flair amidst a splash of fun and an atmosphere of camaraderie and learning. Painting sessions begin at 4:00 p.m.The event is open to the general public for $40 per person.

Our featured speaker will be Annette Baldwin who has portrayed influential and unconventional women for 20 years. This time she will be portraying Elizabeth Van Lew a southern lady and Yankee Spy, passionate about the preservation of the Union and the abolishment of slavery, she became leader of Richmond's espionage network.

Since the Morel Mushroom only sprouts from mid-April through mid-June, this is the perfect time to catch it in all its glory! Gather your family and friends and enjoy this unique experiene with a “hands-on” cooking class exploring the Morel Mushroom. From appetizer to dessert, you’ll be a cooking a delectable four course meal incorporating the Morel in different aspects throughout each dish. This event will be taking place at Big Foot Beach State Park, in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Enjoy a beautiful run/walk through Big Foot Beach State Park with family and friends, as the route will follow the state park hiking trails.  Live music provided by House of Music.  Tailgate party with burgers and brats on the grill.  6:30am-8:00am registration.
