Legends and Landmarks: A Walking Tour of Lake Geneva
Thursday, June 18, 2015 to Thursday, August 20, 2015
6:30 pm
When: Thursdays, June 18 through August 20th 2015

Cost: $8.00 per person or two tickets for $15.00

Where: Tours gather and depart from in front of the Rivera Building, 812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva, WI, 53147

A new walking tour of downtown Lake Geneva and the historic Maple Park neighborhood is being offered this year. The tour was developed by the staff of Black Point Estate and in conjunction with the Lake Geneva Preservation Commission and the Geneva Lake Museum.

The walking tour will be offered Thursday, June 18th at 6:30pm and every subsequent Thursday through August 20th. The ninety minute guided tour will gather and depart from the Rivera Building in downtown Lake Geneva and cover roughly 1.5 miles. “The tour will focus on not only the architecture but many of the colorful personalities and events that make Lake Geneva a special place” said Dave Desimone, Director of Black Point Estate. “For a town of this size, the diversity and quality of architecture is truly impressive. This tour will help to highlight some of it” Desimone continued.

Heritage tourism is one of the fastest growing segments in the tourism industry. Lake Geneva is graced with many beautiful buildings as well as a colorful and interesting past. The goal of this tour is to help bring the city’s cultural heritage to light. “With that in mind, we’ve tried to develop a tour that appeals to both local citizens and tourists” Desimone stated.

On the tour, you will learn which buildings were designed by famous architects, which have a colorful past and which significant structures were lost to neglect or the wrecking ball.
Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Black Point Estate at 262-248-1888 or purchased day of the tour directly from the tour guide.
