Most trails are easy to moderate in difficulty and surfaces range from natural soils to natural grasses. Bring the family to enjoy nature and perhaps find one of three geo-caches located within the park! Maps are available at the office. Includes lagoons, wooded areas, open grass and marshland. Wildlife: Many bird species can be found during migration periods and woodland species nest here. A variety of owls can be found in winter. Park Stickers and trail passes for 2010 are available online and at parks and DNR offices.

This rare type of wetland prairie has an internal ground water system that supports only a few specialized plants. The fen is located off Highway 67 next to St. Benedict Catholic Church. The parking area is located at the corner of Main Street and Dewey Avenue. The area is open daily, year round. There are no admission fees.

This 66-acre nature preserve is part of the City of Lake Geneva Park System. 40 acres of wetland (sedge meadow, pond, calcareous fen and tamaracks) and 20 acres of upland that are being restored to prairies (xeric, sand, short-grass, tall-grass, wet mesic and oak opening with mature oaks and hickories) are all on one site. The preserve is bordered by 250 acres, which are part of a primary environmental corridor, and is open to the public. The trail has plaques identifying various plant and animal species. Wildlife: Look for wetland, grassland, and savanna birds. Also, nesting boxes for bluebirds and tree swallows.

The majority of the land is classified as a wetland but it also is home to a variety of eco systems including prairie, an oak woods, kettle, meadow, deciduous forest, an arboretum and two creeks. Over 4 miles of trails are laid out to bring people closer to the various communities on the property. Try to notice the different plant communities and discover where and why they change. The Blue Route travel from Sage Street to Edwards Blvd., taking bicyclists from downtown Lake Geneva to Lake Geneva Middle School along the old railroad corridor. It is the longest trail connecting with all of the other routes along the way. The Green Route travels from Country Road H to Veteran's Park along Townline Road. This route provides parking and a recreational opportunity. The Red Route, constructed in conjunction with the Highway 120 bypass, travels from County Road H north along the east side of Edwards Boulevard. The Brown Route travels from Bonnie Brae Lane to Edwards Blvd., along Bloomfield Road and South Street (in front of the school properties). The Yellow Route circles the Lake Geneva Business Park pond and runs through Veteran's Park. Please Note: parts of the Bike Path are still under construction. Click here for trail map.
